World Wetlands Day 2024 was celebrated on Feb 2, 2024 by the Karur Forest Division at Forest Extension Division, Chinnathathampalayam, Karur. DFO, Forest rangers, foresters, our staff, NGOs, Eco coordinators, students, and teachers have participated. The Karur Forest Division conducted a drawing competition for the school students in different categories 6-8th, 9-10th, and 11-12th. More than 70 students have participated. The awareness about wetlands and their inevitable role in our lives, and the social, economic, and ecological value of wetlands were explained by our DFO Thiru. V. A. Saravanan. The students pledged to save our wetlands and made awareness by shouting slogans. The seedlings were planted.

An Awareness Rally was conducted on 22.01.2024 on the occasion of World Wetlands Day at GBHSS, Vangal. Around 200 students were participated from both GBHSS and GGHSS, Vangal. The Chief Education Officer, CM Green Fellow Mr. GOPAL, District Environmental Coordinator Mr. Velusamy, NGC Coordinators Mr. Thirumoorthy, Mrs. Kalaiselvi, Principal and staffs were participated, The rally went through the public places, Pamphets were distributed, Oath were taken, and the students were shouted the slogans on the way to create awareness.
