    More than 80 participants, including 30 school students, 50 members from the eco development committee, and forest officials, joined forces for a beach cleanup. Together, they collected 1 tonne of plastic waste. Following the cleanup, a documentary screening on Point Calimere and a talk by wildlife warden Thiru. Abhishek Tomar IFS were held. Additionally, a slogan competition was organized for Government Higher Secondary School, Kodiakarai students, with prizes awardedtothewinners.

    On the occasion of World Wetlands Day, an event was organized at Kodiakkarai, Point Calimere by the Vedaranyam Forest Range Officer, Nagapattinam division. Today saw the active participation of 50 students from class 9th and 10th of Government Higher Secondary School, Kodiakarai, in addition to 50 students from Dr. Jayalalitha Fisheries University. The event kickstarted at 10 am with a tree planting ceremony, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation. Following this, Dr. Sivaganesan delivered a short talk on the vital role wetlands play in our ecosystem, shedding light on their ecological significance. Participants then engaged in a beach cleanup at Kodiakarai Beach. The educational component of the day included a visit to the wildlife sanctuary. Post these quiz sheets, prepared by the Green Fellow were distributed.
