Namakkal Forest Division has celebrated world wetland day on 02.02.2023. On this day we have formed human chain awareness campaign with Aringar Anna College students and Created awareness among public. Followed by that we have distributed wetland pamphlets both English and Tamil to the public. We have also distributed Manjappai as alternate for plastics to the public . Followed by that we have distributed prizes and certificates to school and college students who won wetland competitions

Namakkal Forest office has conducted the clean up activity in the kondichettipatti lake on 30.1.2024. We have included NGO, public, Municipality for clean up. We have provided the participants gloves and bags for collection of plastic wastes. We have collected around 150 kgs of non bio degradable wastes and hand it to municipality for safe disposal. In the clean up activity more than 60 persons have participated. At the end of the clean up activity, our Namakkal range officer has addressed about importance of wetland and how pollution affecting the wetlands to the participants
